On Wednesday and Thursday evenings, March 27th and 28th, the fourth annual Stilbaai Craft Beer, Gin & Wine Expo will be taking place in the community hall and with wines from 21 selected wine estates as well as craft beer from various breweries and unique craft gins, this Tasting Experience is not to be missed.
The Craft Beer, Gin & Wine Expo is hosted by Stilbaai Kelders, the wine boutique with more than 750 wines, the widest selection of craft beers, 25 craft gins and 30 MCC’s. This liquor store specialises in carefully selected wines of which some wines and even craft beers, whiskies and brandies can not be easily found in Hessequa or even the Garden Route.
This year, eight of the 21 wine estates will be showcasing their wines at the expo for the very first time. The new exhibiting estates include Marianne Wines, Muratie Wine Estate as well as Hartenberg and Kaapzicht Wine Estates from the Stellenbosch area; Prevoir Wines from the Robertson Wine Valley; Lomond from the Cape Agulhas region; Glen Carlou from Paarl and Bonnievale Wines from the banks of the Breede River.
These wine estates will find themselves in the company of Strandveld Winery from the Bredasdorp area; Jan Harmsgat Wines from the Swellendam area; De Krans Wines, a favourite from Calitzdorp; Hermanuspietersfontein from the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley at Hermanus; Kleine Zalze Wines from Stellenbosch; Flying Cloud Wines; Delheim Wines; Bon Courage Estate, Kranskop Wines and Excelsior Wine Estate from the Robertson Wine Valley and Zandvliet Wine Estate, the home of Shiraz in South Africa.
Baleia Wines, with vineyards in the Vermaaklikheid area and the cellars just outside Riversdale, will be representing the Hessequa area while another ‘local’ wine, Jakkalsvlei Private Cellar from the Mossel Bay area, will also be showcasing their wines.
A total of 131 wines will be available for tasting and for sale.
Expo visitors will be treated to nine different gins from five distillers (Boplaas, Six Dogs Gin, Black Mountain Gin, Clemengold Gin and Harmony Honeybush) as well as 17 craft beers from three breweries (Mountain Brewing Co., Stellies Beer and the Italian Job Brewery.
As always, cheeses from the area including Kasselshoop Cheese from Stilbaai and handmade cheese from the Albertinia area will also be on taste and will be available at great prices as well as local award-winning olives, olive oils and products from Kleinbergskloof Olive Estate and Kransfontein Olives.
Delicious food for the hungry will be for sale as well.
Entry at the door is R80 per person that will include a wine tasting glass as well as a booklet with information about the products at the expo. The expo will be from 17:00 to 21:00 on both evenings.
The annual Stilbaai Craft Beer, Gin & Wine Expo is the biggest Tasting Experience in Hessequa with the widest selection of wines, craft beers and craft gins under one roof.
