With the second annual International Coffee Day being celebrated on 1 October 2016, we decided to have a look at the various coffee shops and eateries in Stilbaai where you can enjoy coffee and maybe something delicious with it. There is a variety of coffee shops, restaurants and even a book shop to choose from depending on how and where you would like to have a nice ‘cuppa’.
Take the stairs to enter THE PARADISO CAFE – keeping it local – where you will find a variety of great coffees and freshly baked cakes. Enjoy your coffee with a view over the town towards the ocean.
LILLIPUT COFFEE SHOP in the Duine Mall in Voortrekker Street – yes, Stilbaai HAS ‘malls’ – is a cosy coffee shop with more seating outside under the trees. It is also ideal for that early morning coffee or meeting and something sweet to go with the coffee in the afternoon.
At ALLEGAARTJIE you also have a choice to enjoy your ‘cuppa’ inside the shop – and watch the shoppers – or outside if the weather permits. Here you will find a choice of coffees and freshly baked delicacies during the day.
If you are at the OK Grocer, why not pop into the COFFEE BEAN CAFE for your serving of coffee and treats and if you are visiting the Tourism and Information Centre and museum, you can even enjoy coffee at DE OUDE WERF TEETUIN or under the big milkwood trees.
Do you like your coffee while reading a good book? You can do just that at BOOKWORM AND COFFEE SHOP and if you are on a scenic drive, why not stop at BOTTERKLOOF RESORT about 5km outside Stilbaai for some great coffees at their Coffee Shoppe! Here you will experience the beauty and tranquility of the farm while overlooking the dams and an abundance of bird life.
Also on the outskirts of Stilbaai, is THE PRESS ROOM known for their coffees and tasty treats in a Mediterranean setting that reminds one of a scene from the movies.
If you like the view over the river, MATCHBOX is the answer as it is perfectly situated next to the western side of the Goukou River and you can be assured of great coffee!
Yes, there are more! WHITEWASH CAFE at the Dorpsplein is a favourite between young and old while THYME TO RELISH in the Plattebosch Centre is the perfect get-together for family and friends to enjoy their coffee and delicious cakes. You will also be served coffees (cappuccinos, lattes and normal coffees) at the restaurants while take-away coffee is available at 24 hours at the Engen’s Service Station’s Equatorial Café.
