The main beach at Lappiesbaai in Stilbaai is the place to be this weekend (25 and 26 November) when between 20 and 30 teams will be in action in the waves with their inflatable boats (rubberducks).
This is the second round of the Western Province Regional Championship and the last big event before the gruelling 30th Trans Agulhas Inflatable boat challenge that will visit Stilbaai on 29 December as part of their 700km / 5 day race between Pettenberg Bay and Fish Hoek.
On Saturday, the competition will be in the waves at Lappiesbaai between 9:00 and 15:00 and on Sunday the teams will compete in the ‘Long Haul Competition’ that starts at 9:00 at Lappiesbaai from where they will do a 130km distance before returning to Lappiesbaai.
Stilbaai’s current World Champion of the Waves, Raynor Becker and his co-driver, Hugo Erasmus, will also be in action.
