Holiday makers in Stilbaai can again expect some of the country’s best artists to perform LIVE during December with a full program of performances that will take place at various venues.
The action starts on December 14th at the Community Hall with Jannie du Toits ‘Die Eggo Van Jou Oë’ show in benefit of the Jagersbosch Centre while André Schwarts is performing ‘Live’ in the Palinggat Hall on Tuesday (15 December).
On Friday (18 December), French born entertainer, Daniele Pascal, will perform ‘One Night in Paris’ at A Thyme To Relish restaurant while Suitecase Hearts (a collection of songs perform by Ilse Lotz on vocals and Kyla Rose Smith on violin and backing vocals – they describe their own music as “Country Pub” although it can be slightly Retro cool with twinges of wonky tonk saloon stomp. They play mostly original compositions with some really interesting and great covers. Look out for Wrongman frontman and fellow surfer, Guy Tillum, to fly in from the wings and add some of his own magic to the mix) promises to be a show to wow the music lovers at the Press Room Café just outside town on the 19th of December. Jacques G will also perform at El Suenos Bistro on the 19th.
On December 23rd, Jay will be on the stage in the Community Hall with Willem Botha opening for him while Gerald Clarke, the travelling bluesman, is back with a bang and a newly released CD (Afroboer & the Golden Goose) and he will be doing his fun, stripped-down blues guitar show with an ginger afro-attitude that only he can do! This time he will be accompanied by long term partner in crime, Guy “Mamba” Collins and this is a show described as “…raw, swamp-rock blues with howling harmonica, and a thumping stomp box… ”
There will be non-stop shows in the Community Hall for the next four evenings with Adam Tas performing on December 26th; Karlien van Jaarsveld will be live in action on December 27th; Pieter Smith and Riaan van Rensburg will be on the stage on December 28th in the Community Hall while Chris Else is performing at El Suenos Bistro on the same evening. Also on the 27th at Press Room Café, is ‘Kaleidoskoop‘,  a band with an interesting mixed repertoire of original Afrikaans material and English covers with a “Kaleidoscopic swirl”.
There will be two shows on December 29th with Karlien’s brother, Bobby van Jaarsveld, on stage in the Community Hall while Dewald Dippenaar will be performing at El Suenos Bistro. The bistro, on the outskirts of Stilbaai overlooking the majestic Goukou River, will be a busy place as The Wildberries will be in action the next day (December 30th).
Planning on welcoming 2016 with an evening of great entertainment? Then you can either go dancing with live entertainment by Sam and Calla or being entertained by Leonard Lang at El Suenos Bistro or book your place for Summertime Blues New year’s Eve Jam with Naasveld and Peter de Jager (lead vocalist, song writer and acoustic guitarist of Die Tuindwergies) at the Press Room.
